A process designed to be as fair and unbiased as possible
1. Apply for a role
Found a vacancy that attracts you? Fantastic! If you have any questions before you submit your application, this page is a great resource.
Tip: Make sure you read through the vacancy posting carefully and tailor the information you submit accordingly. It might take you a little longer, but it will result in a much stronger application.
FAQs
Yes! Don’t be deterred if you don’t meet every requirement. Potential is as important as experience, and the perfect candidate doesn’t exist. We want to hear from you.
We’re happy to provide reasonable accommodation to applicants with disabilities where appropriate. If you need reasonable accommodation for any part of the application and hiring process, please notify your recruiter during (or ahead of) your introductory call. Determinations on requests for reasonable accommodation will be made on a case-by-case basis.
2. Meet a recruiter
After you’ve submitted your application, our hiring team will do its best to assess it within one week (although, depending on the number of applicants received, it can sometimes take longer).
We always look to “screen in” rather than “screen out,” meaning we’re more interested in what candidates can bring to the company than we are in disqualifying applicants because they don’t meet specific criteria.
If we think you could be a good fit, we’ll get in touch to arrange an introductory call. During the call, we’ll be asking you about your professional experience while getting to know the person behind the CV. The call is also an opportunity for you and us to identify any challenges or deal breakers that could come up in the hiring process.
Tip: Do some research on our customers, our values and history, and our diversity and inclusion initiatives.
“You can pick up skills and you can study for qualifications, but the most important things about you are often not on your CV. Your values, your attitude, and how you treat others are really important to us. As recruiters, we aren’t just looking for candidates who can do the job; we’re looking for people who will contribute to our great culture.”

Yes, you will receive an email from us letting you know that you were unsuccessful this time, but we encourage you to keep an eye out for future vacancies.
No, we don’t use AI in the recruitment process. We believe our recruiters’ knowledge of the company and feel for great people makes them much better at screening candidates than an AI tool.
3. Interviews
If your introductory call goes well, we’ll schedule a first interview as soon as possible. The first interview will be with the hiring manager and one other person, and will last 45 to 60 minutes.
Tip: We believe that interviews are a two-way process and that you should also be interviewing us, too. So think about what’s important to you and prepare some questions in advance.
If the first interview is a success, you’ll be invited for a second interview. In some cases, you may be asked to complete a task ahead of the next interview, and, depending on the role, we may require a third interview.
“At AVEVA, we firmly believe that inclusion sparks innovation, which is why our interview process is consciously designed to engage a diverse panel at every stage. This approach helps us actively mitigate biases, offer a superior candidate experience, and create an inclusive hiring process.”
Pooja Chawla, Talent Acquisition Specialist
Your recruiter will be happy to talk you through the duration and general format of the interviews, along with the competencies on which you could be assessed. You will also be given the names and roles of your interviewers.
We have a number of measures to ensure that interviews are fair, unbiased, and result in the strongest candidate being selected. We do our utmost to avoid 1:1 interviews, we mandate diversity in our interviewing panel wherever possible, and we have a competency framework and interview scorecard that help support a fair process.
4. Decision
Once all the candidates have completed their final interviews, we will let you know our decision as soon as possible. If your application wasn’t successful, your recruiter will be in touch with some feedback from your interviewers.
If your application was successful, your recruiter will extend a verbal job offer and discuss the full package, so that we can get the ball rolling on paperwork and finalize your start date!
