AVEVA Governance for Content Tree
These recommendations are applicable for the following templates:
- Home Page
- Generic 1 Column
- Generic 2 Column - please note: This template does not use Background Container until you get to the section of the page that is below the 2 column split in the template
- Minimal Header and Footer
With the exception of the components that DO NOT require a Background Container (Announcement, Hero Banner, Secondary Navigation), put one Background Container on a page per page stack/panel to set up the overall page structure.
Open each Background Container as you add it to the page and save it to give you the parsys for the components that go inside of it.
Taking this approach helps to reduce author errors in adding components into the wrong parsys; adding alternating Background Colors for each Background Container also helps to distinguish them from one another, and also helps to reduce authoring errors.
Add a Column Control to each Background Container so that content within the Background Container does not run flush left/right across the page width; select the column specification needed for the experience to be created.
Then, add the applicable components inside each Column Control's parsys. Use the Content Tree in the left navigation to confirm you are in the correct Column Control per Background Container.
When you review the Content Tree, select each item to see the part of the page that is highlighted/outlined. A correct Content Tree will show the larger container type of components first followed by their inner components.
