Welcome to the age of industrial AI transformation

Recent technological to democratize data and advancements in AI capabilities play a crucial role in accelerating Industrial applications that enhance safety, sustainability and productivity, and more important how we can help first line workers in their daily responsibilities. The potential of AI to copilot and assist and enhance human capabilities from front-line to corporate workers cannot be overstated.

AVEVA offers unparallel value to HMI/SCADA customers by offering CONNECT entitlements for no additional charge with AVEVA Operations Control subscription. The AI Assistant is built upon AVEVA's Industrial Intelligence Platform, CONNECT. It provides a conversational experience that equips plant floor and supply chain employees with actionable insights, fostering rapid resolution of issues and accelerating decision-making activities. The time between human curiosity and actionable insights is now seconds.

AVEVA’s AI assistant acts as a virtual expert, simplifying the vast task of extracting insights from scattered data sets to answer complex, multi-stage questions. Industrial teams can take advantage of large language models (LLM) and generative AI through an intuitive interface.

Industry 5.0 collaboration and partnership

Together, AVEVA and Microsoft are accelerating the delivery of industrial intelligence, empowering customers to utilize the power of innovation. With Microsoft’s solutions and AVEVA’s deep industry expertise and software, businesses can capitalize on the power of technology to become more agile, resilient and environmentally sustainable. AVEVA is actively co-innovating with Microsoft. It is among the first industrial independent software vendors to commit to interoperability with Microsoft Fabric.

The Microsoft and AVEVA partnership dates back decades, so we have had the time to figure out our approach to partnering. We're combining AVEVA's industrial expertise with Microsoft’s technical stack, especially our global cloud, Azure, and Azure AI services, and we’re doing so with our customers in mind.

Case study: Amcor uses advanced analytics to improve line performance

AVEVA includes the CONNECT platform services as part of the AVEVA Operations Control subscription free of charge, which means users can access industrial information in context and visualize data in one place. Organizations can share relevant information across teams, tap into a network of consumers, producers, partners and vendors, and build or extend their ecosystem to bolster their investments.

Now, with the launch of AVEVA’s Industrial AI Assistant in CONNECT, companies using AVEVA Operations Control have the opportunity to pose questions to the digital intellect through a chat interface. The AI assistant can quickly find and summarize information based on process data, events, or an identified asset, tag, or content name.

When Amcor needed to improve line performance, it knew it didn't have the right data to make an effective assessment and uncover inefficiencies. Amcor uses blow molding and injection molding processes to manufacture rigid plastics. Amcor worked on a Lighthouse engagement using AVEVA Operations Control to optimize the effectiveness of its processes. This includes the use of MES and process data stored on CONNECT data services, which is displayed in CONNECT data visualization and processed with AVEVA™ Advanced Analytics tool. This allows Amcor to utilize upstream data from the polymer blending process, address performance/downtime issues with molders, and look across molding machines for process variances.

Looking forward: The future of industrial AI

The collaboration between AVEVA and Microsoft exemplifies a shared vision of innovation and growth, leveraging AI to deliver solutions that are not only technologically advanced but also practical and user-centric. The AVEVA Industrial AI Assistant is a product of this partnership, embodying the potential of AI to transform industrial operations and establish new benchmarks for efficiency and productivity.

Looking ahead, the CONNECT platform will also continue to evolve as a robust environment for developing next-generation industrial solutions. With the potential to integrate more AI-driven applications, AVEVA and Microsoft’s vision of a fully automated, highly efficient industrial landscape is well within reach.
