Revolutionizing asset information management

Posted: December 02, 2024

Managing mountains of data can feel a lot like running a marathon in a suit of armor. Almost 50% of digital workers struggle to find information or data needed for their work.[1]

AVEVA™ Asset Information Management strips away that heavy armor by dramatically reducing the time It takes to find trusted data.[2] It transforms data management from a marathon slog into a streamlined sprint, making it easier to meet project demands head-on with a user-friendly experience.

What's new in AVEVA Asset Information Management

Multi-portal magic: Juggling multiple data models in one environment

In process industries, one-size-fits-all doesn’t cut it. That’s why we have introduced the multi-portal capability in AVEVA Asset Information Management Advanced on CONNECT, the cloud-based industrial intelligence platform. Whether you are an EPC managing several CAPEX projects or an OO coordinating multiple plants across various location, the multi portal capability will allow you to navigate through those from one single instance even if they are all based on different data model.

Streamlining data integration: Gateway rationalization for enhanced efficiency

We’ve taken significant steps to modernize and improve the solution’s time to value by introducing a new set of gateways. AVEVA Asset Information Management gateways process and convert data from multiple sources—like Word, PDF, Oracle, SQL, and more—into compatible input for seamless integration into AVEVA Asset Information Management. This rationalization effort replaces the numerous point-to-point source application gateways with a more functional, streamlined approach, providing a single gateway per type of data source (1D, 2D, 3D), making it easier for customers to consume and manage their data. Those gateways provide a unified UI (user interface) with a standardized configuration option and common code, which allows us to increase release frequency. The result is a smoother, more efficient data handling process, which allows you to focus on what matters most: driving your projects forward.

A new dimension of asset management: Compatibility with Autodesk Navisworks®

Building on this streamlined approach, AVEVA Asset Information Management now supports Autodesk Navisworks® in our newly released rationalized 3D gateway (see above) alongside other formats like: AutoCAD 3D, IFC, PCF, and MicroStation 3D. As 3D models become increasingly vital in asset management, this expanded support offers a richer, more detailed view of your assets in an easy-to-manage, immersive 3D visualization experience. 3D visualization: New cloud service available

Ease of navigation, new capabilities, and a modern UI are some of the benefits customers will get from our new 3D visualization service in the cloud (3DVis). Now, you can teleport to any point in your asset, walk around, and inspect assets just as if you were on site. Clip around key assets to focus on what matters or hide and isolate objects to get a clearer view. Along with this new service, we will soon introduce even more capabilities, like model composition, markup, and more. Additionally, we will also be able to provide an on-premises equivalent of this service for customers who won’t have the possibility to move to the cloud.

New commercial model: Pay only for what you use

Our new commercial model for the cloud-based version of AVEVA Asset Information is based entirely on usage, which significantly lowers the barrier to entry. Now is an ideal time to start leveraging its capabilities on CONNECT; no need to worry about overspending on tools you don’t end up using. A usage-based model makes the software solution more accessible and flexible to everyone in the process industry.
