SABESP: Enhancements in Water Resource Management with AVEVA PI System
This project presents the modernization of the PI System environment at SABESP, focusing on server virtualization and the updating of essential components. Through a robust and distributed architecture, significant improvements were implemented, including the migration of a legacy application to modern technologies, forecasting water consumption at pumping stations, and real-time monitoring of Water Pumping Stations. The project resulted in reduced operational costs, increased efficiency, and improved service quality for the population. The integration of systems and the adoption of a data-driven approach for decision-making ensured more efficient management of water resources, minimizing water scarcity in the São Paulo Metropolitan Region (RMSP). This initiative highlights the potential for innovation and the possibility of replication in other organizations within the sector.

I am seeking an opportunity to apply the knowledge I have acquired throughout my career. With 20 years of experience in Industrial Automation, I possess solid expertise in Cybersecurity for Mission-Critical environments and am a specialist in the PI System. My achievements include receiving the TI & GOVERNO Award in 2012 and the Metering Excellence Awards for Latin America. I hold a postgraduate degree in Information Security from Senac São Paulo, obtained in 2023, and a Bachelor’s degree in Network Management from UNIRADIAL, completed in 2008. Currently, I work at Cia de Saneamento Básico do Estado de São Paulo (SABESP) as a Technical Manager since May 1997. In this role, I have been involved in the modernization of the Operational Control Center for the Metropolitan Region, as well as the implementation, support, and maintenance of SCADA Power supervision systems. Additionally, I have overseen the implementation, support, maintenance, and development of the PI System Historian, configuration, and analysis of Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), and the maintenance of a segregated OT environment, ensuring security protocols are rigorously followed. From March 2014 to December 2017, I served as a guest professor at Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie, where I taught courses in SCADA Systems and Macrometering as part of the Postgraduate Program in Basic Sanitation Engineering. I have a basic understanding of English and possess several key skills, including effective communication, autonomy, adaptability, critical thinking, teamwork, and a strong focus on cybersecurity in OT environments.

With over 20 years of experience in industrial technologies, I have worked in various areas, including implementation, development, commercial support, management, training, and maintenance of PIMS projects with PI System [OSISoft) and IP.21 (ASPENTECH). I hold OSISoft accreditations as an "Infrastructure Specialist" and "Installation Specialist," as well as an Aspen certification as a "User in Aspen InfoPlus.21." Additionally, I am a "Certified Scrum Product Owner" from K21. I presented at the global PI System user meeting in Silicon Valley (PI World 2019) and contributed a paper that was published in the proceedings of the National Sanitation Congress. I authored the article "The Digital Transformation of Sabesp," which was included in the book "Environmental and Sanitary Engineering: Interfaces of Knowledge," published in October 2019 by Editora Atena. I served as the technical lead for the implementation of the PI System at both SABESP and the largest integrated pulp and paper company in the world, located in Indonesia (APP Sinarmas), where I gained six months of international experience. Furthermore, I have expertise in agile methodologies, particularly Scrum, having acted as a Product Owner in most of the projects I have worked on.
