Det Norske discovered a major hydrocarbon deposit in the North Sea. Now known as the Ivar Aasen field, it contains the equivalent of 210M barrels of oil, the first large field development for the company. Det Norske used AVEVA Asset Information Management to handover the engineering and execution data formed in the CAPEX phase. This approach smoothed the transition from the engineering to operations phase of the project and expedited time to startup and full capacity while also laying the asset model context for the digital twin in operations.
"By asking important questions before handover, you can have information management and plant maintenance strategies already in place, potentially saving you a lot of money.”
Asbjørn Mangerud, Head of Business Development, VisioNova
