SBM Offshore not only designs floating production storage and offloading vessels (FPSOs), but the company also operates these vessels in some of the more remote locations in the world. To improve the design process and optimize FPSO operations, the company needed access to engineering and operations data. With the help of AVEVA Engineering, AVEVA Diagrams, and AVEVA E3D Design, SBM Offshore digitalized its engineering data. Then, with AVEVA PI System and AVEVA Asset Information Management, the company created a real-time data pipeline from its offshore FPSOs to its onshore locations, and connected engineering data to operations, giving users everywhere the insights they need, when and where they need them.
