Western Power is an Australian power company with over 1.1 million customers. It builds, maintains, and operates transmission and distribution assets in the South West Interconnected Network (SWIN). In a single year, the company supplies seventeen thousand gigawatts of power through over 100,000 kilometers of circuit wiring to communities around southwestern Australia. However, as more customers installed solar panels, maintaining a stable voltage grid was a challenge. With the PI System, Western Power has increased its situational awareness to be able to predict and meet its customers’ energy needs.
